Cornea Transplant
A corneal transplant (keratoplasty) is a surgical procedure in which part of the cornea is replaced with corneal tissue from a donor. The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped surface that covers the front of the eye and contributes much of the eye’s focusing power.
A cornea transplant can restore sight, reduce pain, and improve the appearance of a damaged or diseased cornea.
Most corneal transplants are successful procedures. However, cornea transplant carries a small risk of complications, such as rejection of the donor cornea.
